SkinnyMVC is a light-weight, easy to learn, "skinny" development framework for PHP that enables the developer to implement the MVC architectural pattern, while maintaining maximum flexibility and performance of the application.

HOWTO Upgrade a SkinnyMVC-based Web Application

Like any other piece of software that's actively maintained, from time to time new versions of SkinnyMVC come out. But what do you do when that happens?! Answer is, you upgrade.

This tutorial will show you how to upgrade your SkinnyMVC-based web application.

Step #0

Before you do an upgrade, you should back up everything! (Do that BEFORE doing any of the following steps.)

Step #1

The first step is to update the skinnymvc.php script. You can get it from the SkinnyMVC download page.

Replace your old version of skinnymvc.php with the new version you just downloaded.

Step #2

The second step is to run...

  php skinnymvc.php upgrade

(This will upgrade auto-generated SkinnyMVC files.)

Step #3

The third step is to run...

  php skinnymvc.php generateModel

(This will re-generate your ORM files.)

Step #4

You should now test your web application to make sure the upgrade went fine. (And if all did, then you're done.)
